Weaver's Work

offerings towards a future for all peoples

In 1952 Leo Strauss wrote an essay in which he called everything which can not be said under the eye of an opressive regime "terra incognita", the undiscovered country. All of my writing, whether it is a game or a poem or a story or something otherwise unclassifiable, is a love letter to this country. I consider my work pedological instruments who's intent is to allow their users to traverse these unseen fields, and hopefully, in their own way, make a contribution to their construction. I stand against the homogenization of language and the flattening of prose into that which is purely representational. There is more in heaven and earth than can be mapped on a page, but I hope to write of it anyway.

Below is a selection is of my work which I hope highlights the depth and breadth of my love for this undiscovered country.

A full catalog of my writing and games work can be found here on my itch.io page.

Please note until 2022 I went by Rufus Roswell or Ben Roswell online before consolidating under the name Weaver Walker. Some of my work has not yet been updated to reflect this, and some I am unable to update.

Highlights

A Trans Man Works at Jurassic Park, 2021

A zine length poem posing as a piece of trans science fiction posing as a documentary film. It seeks to trace the secret and unspoken history of a transexual scientist employed at Jurassic Park. What uneasy feelings must he have about the science and money at work in the world? How could I as an author provide a counter reading of pop culture which is at once tender and scathing? Here is the beginning of my answer.

The Ship Sinks Here (revised), 2025

An anti-war sequel to battleship. This game invites you join a two opposing navies who have decided the mutual destruction of their warships is the only way forward. The disarmament of human beings need not be theoretical, it can be practical. Only we must first imagine it as such.

This game produces 2 drawn artifacts of play which express the journey from wartime to peacetime.
